The London Guide: Private & Group Dining
Based on experience, here are my top private dining spots in London and details about each. They all have a focus on great food…and fab wine lists!

Caia (Notting Hill)
Capacity - 12 upstairs. Larger parties can be seated in the basement (inquire for capacity details).
Cost - £1000 minimum in the upstairs room. £2000 in the basement room.
Menu Style - Select from the Caia dinner menu until you hit minimum spend.
What I like about it - If you are willing to book the larger basement space, do it! The live vinyl is a vibe to have during and after dinner.
10 Greek Street (Soho)
Capacity - 8 to 12.
Cost - £65pp for the sharing menu. ‘A la carte’ is based on food and drinks ordered. There is a £500 minimum spend.
Menu Style - You can choose a set sharing menu with starters, a main course, and a dessert OR selection from the restaurant’s ’a la carte’ menu but still shared family-style.
What I like about it - The ambience is like a cozy home dinner party and the location is perfect for a night out in Soho after dinner.
Bancone (Soho)
Capacity - 8 to 14 (Golden Square Location). 8 to 12 (Covent Garden location).
Cost - £45pp to cover set food menu. Drinks are additional cost. No minimum spend, and no rental fee.
Menu Style - Set sharing menu with starters, pasta main courses, and a dessert. Drinks are a la carte.
What I like about it - This is a perfect neighbourhood-esque spot. The menu is simple and the pasta is silk, and the people at Bancone are the friendliest.
Red Room @ 40 Greek Street (Soho)
Capacity - 12. Other rooms have more capacity and other costs associated.
Cost - £60pp to cover set food menu. Drinks are an additional cost. No minimum spend, and no rental fee.
Menu Style - Set sharing menu with starters, mains, and desserts. Drinks are a la carte.
What I like about it - You can reserve the room from 6pm to close.
Note: you must be a Soho House member to rent.
10 Cases (Covent Garden)
Capacity - Small room for 5-8, and a medium room for 8-14.
Cost - £55pp to cover sharing menu. Drinks are an additional cost. There is a minimum spend depending on the time of week.
Menu Style - Set 3-course sharing menu. Wine tastings are also available.
What I like about it - This is one for wine lovers.
Passione Vino (Shoreditch)
Capacity - One room offers 8-10. Another offers 12-15. Or max 20 people for a standing buffet.
Cost - Private rooms have a £600 minimum spend. There is a £1,500 minimum for standing buffet.
Menu Style - There are a variety of set menu options for seated or standing. Drinks are a la carte.
What I like about it - If you like wine, you should go here. They offer a guided wine tasting for your group along with dinner!
Manteca (Shoreditch) - Group dining but NOT private
Capacity - Minimum 8 for group booking and family-style menu.
Cost - £65pp for the feast menu or £45pp for the pasta menu. Additional pasta and focaccia supplements are offered at a cost per person. Drinks are an additional cost. No minimum spend and no rental fee.
Menu Style - Set feast sharing menu or set pasta sharing menu with starters, mains (and/or pastas), and desserts.
What I like about it - The food is some of the best in the city and there are several set menus to choose from so that you can get what you want.
The Bird in Hand (Hammersmith)
Capacity - Max 20.
Cost - £36pp for 2 courses. £42pp for 3 courses. Drinks are an additional cost.
Menu Style - You can opt for a 2 or 3-course sharing menu with starters, pizza, and dessert.
What I like about it - This is one is for those that want a laid back, classic, pub vibe but with stellar food and wine.
Bardo St. James (Mayfair)
Capacity - 16.
Cost - Minimum spend of £2000.
Menu Style - Select from the full dinner menu.
What I like about it - Sultry, opulent, and the private room overlooks the stage with live jazz.
Piazza Italiana (City of London)
Capacity - Variety of rooms, with the smallest two accommodating up to 14 and 20.
Cost - Minimum spend of £100pp.
Menu Style - Order from their dinner menu.
What I like about it - This one has a more formal, grand element to it. Could also be great for private work dinners with clients if you’re into that.
